FEELIN’ GOOD MILEAGE CLUB!

Time to tie up the laces and get ready for Feelin’ good mileage club. The mileage club is a program organized by the Fifth Third Bank and other sponsors to correlate with the river bank run. The program is designed to get kids up and moving at recess. Mileage club will begin April 13 and go until May 8 (depending on the weather it may go longer).
At Georgetown, mileage club will be at lunch recess everyday, one extra second recess a week and some time will be spent in P.E. class. The students will have to go around the track to earn popsicle sticks. One lap = one stick etc., and 4 sticks = 1 mile. When the students come to P.E. class they will trade in their popsicle sticks for a punch on their mileage club card (1 mile = 1 punch). At miles 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 students will receive prizes. At miles 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 students will put their name in an envelope and there will be a prize drawing at the end of mileage club to give away more prizes. Students may walk, jog, or run around the track, they must complete a full lap to receive a popsicle stick. The goal is to reach 20 miles!
