Annual P.E. C.A.R.E.S Food Drive!

The annual P.E. C.A.R.E.S food drive will be starting on November 4. We are asking for your help by bringing in non-perishable food items for Love your Neighbor (previously Love Inc.) in Hudsonville.

Food items to consider are canned vegetables and fruits, pasta, rice, baked beans, black beans, kidney beans, peanut butter, tuna fish, etc. (please no ramen noodles, and please do not break apart packaged food)

The food drive will continue until Nov. 18. We will be keeping track of how many items each class brings in. The class with the most items brought in by NOON on Nov. 18 will win a P.E. C.A.R.E.S t-shirt and a bowling trip to Hudsonville Lane. (If allowed this year)

This is a great opportunity for our students to care for their community, to teach our kids compassion and love for others. Thanks for sharing in this service project with us at Georgetown.

2018 PE CARES

It’s that time of year again when we get to help other families in our Hudsonville area!!! We are asking all of our GT families to consider donating non-perishable food items and they will all be given to Love Inc. in Hudsonville. We start Friday Nov. 2 and we will collect until Friday Nov. 16 at noon 🙂 The class that brings in the most items will be given a thank you and traveling to the Hudsonville Bowling Lanes for a bowling party!!!! Thanks for your help.

We are so proud of our students and their families in how they help our Hudsonville Community! GT students donated 2,653 items for LOVE INC. The class that donated the most items was Mr. Kooikers 4th grade!! They donated 392 items!! They will each get a PE CARES t-shirt and a bowling trip to Hudsonville Lanes!!

We are in the middle of our Nutrition month and discussing the 5 food groups and what we need to do to keep our bodies healthy! We are also bringing in lots of food to help with PE CARES (collecting and regiving essential supplies). K classes continue to work on underhand throw. Here are a few pictures!

Today Mrs. McDonalds class got to take a field trip to Hudsonville Lanes for bringing in the most items for our PE CARES! We had SO much fun…what a treat! A big thank you goes to Hudsonville Lanes for supporting all our Hudsonville El. Schools with a free trip to the bowling Lanes. Check out the pictures…

Wow!!!!!!!!! Georgetown families….we are so blessed by all the donations you brought in to help our families in Hudsonville at Love Inc. We exceeded our donations of past years by over 1,oo0 items. Our total for the school was 4,592! Congratulations to Mrs. McDonalds 3rd grade class, they will be going on the bowling field trip to Hudsonville Lanes. They brought in 640 items! Mrs. Greenlunds’ 2nd grade class brought in 524 items and Mrs. Balls’ 5th gr. class brought in 476. We are so blessed to have such giving families and students at Georgetown!! May you have a great Thanksgiving 🙂

Our annual PE C.A.R.E.S (Collecting and re-giving essential supplies) starts Monday, Nov. 9. and will run until Friday, Nov. 20. A note to parents will be sent home with details. The class that brings in the highest number of non-perishable food items will win a PE CARES t-shirt and a bowling field trip to Hudsonville Bowling Lanes!!!! Thank you for your help and support in this community service project. All items will be donated to LOVE INC. in Hudsonville. We are thankful for this opportunity to teach our kids compassion and love for others!

So excited to tell you that Georgetown families brought in over 2500 donated items of food to help out LOVE INC to give to the many families in Hudsonville!! Thank you so much for your willingness to help with this project! Here are the top 5 totals:
1st – Mr. Bowen 442
2nd – Miss VanArkle 196
3rd – Ms. VanderStel 175
4th – Mr. Kooiker 148
5th – Mr. Gort 144

Mr. Bowens class will all receive PE CARES t-shirts (donated by Hudsonville Bowling Lanes) and a bowling field trip in Dec. Well done Georgetown School!!!!!

Great news for families in Hudsonville that need some help this Thanksgiving season. Our students and families at Georgetown El. donated over 3017 food items to Love Inc. We are so very proud of how giving our families are! Mrs. Florys’ 3rd grade class donated the most items with 372!!! Each student in her class will get a PE CARES t-shirt and a field trip to Hudsonville Bowling Lanes. We are so thankful to Hudsonville Lanes for being a huge sponsor with this event! Mr. Bialochowski’s class donated 367 items and Mrs. Quigley’s 2nd grade class donated 256 items…WOW! Classes that donated over 100 items were…Estefan, Stutz, Stadt, Ray, VanArkle, Walenta, Kooiker, and Huizenga! Thanks so much to all of our families for giving so much and supporting this wonderful cause! We will post pictures next week!!
