FlipGrids

Wow, we can not believe it is the middle of May already!  We just want you to know that for those of you that are doing the FlipGrids, we love seeing your kids do their workout at home.  It brings us SO many smiles!  Keep up the good work 🙂

Hockey Championship Game!

So excited to have ALL of our 5th graders in the gym to cheer on the winning teams that played against the GT teachers/staff.  We (the teachers/staff) are still undefeated with a score of 6 to 1!!!!!  We appreciate all the stiffness and sore muscles the adults go through to get this done.  It is definitely a highlight for all of us every year 🙂

PE CARES BOWLING

We had a great trip to the Hudsonville Bowling Lanes this afternoon!!  Mr. Kooiker’s 4th grade class had a ball!!  His class raised the most donations in November for LOVE INC. and was the winner of PE CARES t-shirts and a bowling field trip.  We are SO grateful that Hudsonville Lanes continues to support our PE programs in this way.  Please, if you happen to visit their bowling alley, give a great big thank you for letting us come.  🙂

P.E. C.A.R.E.S.

The annual P.E. C.A.R.E.S food drive will be starting on November 6.  We are asking for your help by bringing in non-perishable food items for Love Inc. in Hudsonville.  Food items to consider are canned vegetables and fruits, pasta, rice, baked beans, black beans, kidney beans, peanut butter, tuna fish, etc.
 (please no ramen noodles)
The food drive will continue until Nov. 21.  We will be keeping track of how many items each class brings in for the food drive.  The class with the most items at the end of the day on Nov. 21 will win a bowling trip to Hudsonville Lanes and a P.E. C.A.R.E.S t-shirt.
This is a great opportunity for our students to care for their community, thanks for sharing in this service project with us at Georgetown.

Bowling is Back!!!

We have started our bowling unit for K-5th grades.  This unit is always a favorite for our students!!  3rd-5th learn their 3 step approach and how to keep score.  K-2nd learn their 4 cue words and how to put their score in to the frames.  After they complete the unit, Hudsonville Lanes gives them a coupon for 3 free games of bowling….SO exciting!  Here are a few pictures…
