We are in the middle of our Nutrition month and discussing the 5 food groups and what we need to do to keep our bodies healthy! We are also bringing in lots of food to help with PE CARES (collecting and regiving essential supplies). K classes continue to work on underhand throw. Here are a few pictures!

Tuesday, October 25 is the big day!!!! If you registered your child for the race, they should have brought their race bag and shirt home yesterday 🙂 Please make sure on the day of the race, the bib number is pinned to the outside of whatever they are wearing. We need to be able to see the bib color as they finish. Thanks for all your help with this!
Please dress for the weather and we will see you at the race!!!!
We can not wait to see all of you again in PE for the upcoming school year!!! Don’t forget to bring your PE shoes on the very first day of school so you can keep them in your locker and be prepared to come to the gym. Remember, they do not have to be new…just clean and the right size!! See you soon! Mrs. Nienhuis and Mrs. VanKoevering
The weather was a little iffy (very cold) but we completed our field day with a smile! Here are a few pictures!
Just a reminder that the 4th and 5th gr. field day is coming up on June 7 with a rain date of June 8. If your child ordered a field day t-shirt, it will be coming home on Monday June 6!
Please have your child dress for the weather (with sunscreen) and if they take their own water bottle, they are responsible for it.
We are SO excited to let you know that GT students and their families donated $8648.61 to the American Heart Association for their Jump Rope for Heart!!!! Thank you parents for helping out with this awesome cause. The thank you gifts for those students that donated will be coming in about three to four weeks. Here are a few pictures from our event….
Our gym is perfect for teaching fractions!!! Our white line divides our gym into thirds and many lines help us with quarters and halves. We decided to make our middle circle into a giant pizza to teach many more fractions. There is one activity we do that is called pizza party. If a student gets tagged, they have to go sit in one of the giant slices of pizza. Mrs. VanKoevering and I then ask the students, “what fraction of our pizza is filled?”.
What a great morning we had on Monday. The 5th grade winning teams from our hockey tournament went up against our VERY talented and athletic teachers!!!!! We are excited to say that we remain undefeated 🙂 A great time was had by all! Enjoy the pictures.
We have a favorites day this rotation and it is one of the kids best days. They get VERY hot and sweaty because they get to choose their favorite activity and play it for the allotted amount of time that they earned in class since Oct. Here are a few pictures…
