A big thank you goes out to Hudsonville Bowling Lanes. We got to use their carpet lanes again the month of March to teach all the students about bowling. We ended with some Crazy Bowl where the kids get very sweaty and have lots of fun! Here are a few pictures…
A huge thank you to Hudsonville Lanes for allowing us to use their bowling unit again this year. 3rd-5th grade students learn the 3-step approach and all students learn their cue words (push, swing, bowl, hello) and how to keep score. Here are a few pictures 🙂
We had a great trip to the Hudsonville Bowling Lanes this afternoon!! Mr. Kooiker’s 4th grade class had a ball!! His class raised the most donations in November for LOVE INC. and was the winner of PE CARES t-shirts and a bowling field trip. We are SO grateful that Hudsonville Lanes continues to support our PE programs in this way. Please, if you happen to visit their bowling alley, give a great big thank you for letting us come. 🙂
We have started our bowling unit for K-5th grades. This unit is always a favorite for our students!! 3rd-5th learn their 3 step approach and how to keep score. K-2nd learn their 4 cue words and how to put their score in to the frames. After they complete the unit, Hudsonville Lanes gives them a coupon for 3 free games of bowling….SO exciting! On Friday, December 16 the fourth graders from Mr. Kooikers class got to head to Hudsonville Lanes for winning the P.E. C.A.R.E.S. food drive contest. The fourth graders got to bowl two games, and had so much fun. Thanks to Hudsonville Lanes for supporting our food drive cause and allowing us to go bowling for free. Thanks again to all of our GT families for making the food drive a success.

Well, we had an awesome time at our PE CARES bowling trip to Hudsonville Lanes!! Mr Bowens class went and really showed off their bowling skills that they have learned in PE the last couple of years. We are so thankful for businesses like Hudsonville Lanes who care enough to support our kids and give them a trip for all their hard work in the PE CARES food drive. We have started a new unit in the gym, bowling!! The students are very excited. We are so thankful to Hudsonville Lanes for letting us use their equipment. In this unit, the students learn how to correctly hold the ball (chiwawa) and take their steps on the approach. They also learn the different positions that we have on the bowling alley so that everyone gets a turn to bowl, spot, keep score, set up pins, and be the ball return person. Keeping score is not always easy but, we are learning!!
