KHC -FINN’S MISSION!

18 is the number of surgeries Finn’s young heart has endured to help him become the vibrant, happy child he is today. Learn more about Finn here.

We have kicked off Kids Heart Challenge and are off to a great start! Every student is encouraged to register and take a heart healthy pledge!

Help your student complete Finn’s Mission

In doing so, you and your family will learn Hands Only CPR, warning signs of a stroke, and earn your very own Finn’s Lifesaver key ring.

Did you know that since 2019 the American Heart Association has donated more than 500 CPR in Schools Kits to schools right here in Michigan thanks to your fundraising efforts?

Kids Heart Challenge

Georgetown families, we can not thank you enough for all the donations to the American Heart Association!! We raised just over $12,300.00 WOW! We wanted to let you know that the larger thank you gifts (like the yo yo, t-shirt, and play ground ball etc.) will come in after Spring Break. Here are a few pictures of our event in PE.

REMINDER KHC ENDS FEBRUARY 15!

Once again we are amazed at how much our GT family has raised for the American Heart Association.  We have 173 kids registered and 132 of those have raised over $9,600.00 already.  There is still time to register and give if you would like to help the American Heart Association.   The deadline is February 15 to register!

Thanks for your support!

Kids Heart Challenge!

The Kids Heart Challenge is in full swing!  We hope you’re having a ball and feel as rewarded as we do helping fight heart disease and stroke. Keep up the great work, you’re making a HUGE difference!

Remember, more than 50% of kids are not getting the physical activity they need to be healthy. You’re helping to change that. We have a special incentive at our school.  If we can get 50% of our students registered and taking the healthy challenges, we will receive an additional $500 to purchase new PE equipment.  Help us reach our goal!  Get your student registered for Kids Heart Challenge today!

Kids Heart Challenge!

Information about Kids Heart Challenge will be coming home with students today.  Please note that this fundraiser is for the American Heart Association, it does also helps us get P.E. Equipment for GT.  The Kids Heart Challenge Fundraiser is done ONLINE (see link below) and will be open from February 6 until February 28.

When your child joins Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) they will hear from kids with special hearts and raise funds to help those born with heart defects.  Students learn about taking care of their own heart through fun challenges and activities for physical, social and emotional health.

Get online and register your student today:

http://www2.heart.org/goto/georgetownhudsonville

Please note that thank-you prizes earned by students will be handed out when they come to P.E. class.  Some prizes need to be ordered when the fundraiser is over and will be delivered sometime in March.  Any money donated after Feb. 28 will not earn prizes.

THANK YOU!!!

Thank you so much for all the support we had for Kids Heart Challenge!  We surpassed our goals of raising money for American Heart Association and getting half our school to register online.  We raised $11,404.00 and our goal was $9,300.00.  We had 311 students register and our goal was 283.  That is amazing!!!  So not only did we help out a great cause, we also earned some PE equipment for our school! Thanks for being willing to do it all online too, we can not begin to tell how much time that saved us.

We are still in the process of handing out thank you gifts, so hopefully by next week we will complete giving all the key chains and wristbands.  Please note prizes like jump ropes, t-shirts and playground balls etc. will be ordered next week from American Heart Association and then they will send them to us,  after spring break.

Thanks again, we appreciate it!

KIDS HEART CHALLENGE!

We are working our way through Kids Heart Challenge with each class that comes to gym.  Our day is focused on jumping!  We have different ways for the kids to jump and different “tools/ropes” for them to try.  Jumping is great exercise for our hearts and the kids have learned that they need to eat healthy and exercise their hearts!  There is still time to register and give to the American Heart Association.  Just registering will help our school earn some PE equipment too!
